Version 1.2 '999 Nights' — Steam Launch, Shinku & Iroi, and Everything New
Version 1.2 is the biggest update since NTE’s global launch in April. For the first time, Neverness to Everness is playable on PC via Steam alongside the existing client, opening the city to a whole new wave of players — and the update itself delivers two new characters, a major endgame mode, and the first teasers of what comes next.
New Characters: Shinku and Iroi
Shinku (真红) headlines the first half of the patch as a limited S-Rank Cosmos damage dealer who fights bare-handed. Her dual-energy-bar system unlocks enormous burst windows, and her high-speed dash executions make her one of the most kinetic carries the game has shipped. Her banner runs from July 8 to July 29.
Iroi (伊洛伊) closes the patch as the game’s first limited S-Rank healer. Her dream lambs intercept attacks for the whole team, her kit grants brief invulnerability windows, and her ultimate combines an AoE heal with a revive effect. Chinese-server coverage has already labeled the Shinku + Iroi pairing the definitive team of the patch. Iroi’s banner opens July 29.
999 Nights — the new roguelike mode
The headline PvE addition is 999 Nights, a roguelike gauntlet where you draft buffs between floors and push as deep as you can. Early community feedback highlights Shinku as a monster inside the mode — though notably, testing from Prydwen and Reddit flags her base copy as less reliable against the mode’s mobile bosses, a nuance worth knowing before you spend on duplicates.
Steam launch and cross-progression
The July 8 Steam release supports cross-progression with existing accounts. New Steam players can claim a launch bundle through the event page, and the store release ships with a full achievement list for completionists.
What’s next
Version 1.3 has been teased with two new faces — Zankou and Linko — both expected as S-Rank units. Expect the usual mid-patch events, double-drop weekends, and the continuation of the summer event line through August.
